Donald Trump, the guy who was fawning over Vladimir Putin not long ago and calling him a genius for declaring some of the Eastern Ukraine provinces independent states and then sending in troops to “protect” them, wants to be our president again.
There was awe in Trump’s voice as he dreamed out loud about doing the same thing on our southern border.
So just imagine us sanctioned by all the civilized countries of the world, shut out of trade and travel and sports like Russia is now. Stock market shuttered, dollar crumbling. With Trump back in the White House, every day we would face that risk because like Putin he only knows what he wants and he ignores the price humanity will pay.
Ever the Monday morning quarterback, Trump says that with him Putin would never have invaded Ukraine. Is that because he would have handed it over, no invasion necessary, a gift between friends? Or because he counts American lives cheap and wants us to believe he would be eyeball to eyeball with Putin as they both blustered about using nuclear weapons till one of them finally had to push the button?
